back on topic.......instead of buying a inexpensive bottle holder, use a piece of 520 cord and tie a jug knot. Much more durable and can use on it any size bottle.
Hey Superman......thank you so much for your service. I feel for the Vietnam era vets returning home and being treated like crap -- that is so wrong on so many levels. I was in 5th grade in '75 and...
In cold weather, I've spread a sportsman blanket reflective side up. I don't know if it really made any difference in warmth, but it did protect the tent floor. I've only done this car camping and...
The troop quartermaster should be an ideal resource on how and what to use.
Tikka Plus here. I use reg. alkaline AAA's and has lasted over a year -- still haven't changed the batteries.
I never trusted the rubber o-rings in the water bottle carriers. Just didn't seem durable to me...YMMV. I just tie a jug knot around the neck of the bottle for a nice sturdy way to carry it. I...
I'm surprised the jug knot (aka moonshiner's knot) hasn't been mentioned. It is great for putting a rope handle on a empty coke bottle or Gatorade bottle.

Sounds great Rain Man. I would love to see some old faces and meet some new faces. However, I have a bp trip planned to Fiery Gizzard that weekend. If it falls thru for some reason I will "crash"...
Outback Oven get my vote. The bakepacker seems like a hassle, but it is lighter than the outback oven. I like the outback oven because it will brown on top as well. Used it many times on weekend...
I have this rod. It is a cool concept, but I broke it the second time I used it trying to free a snagged line. I didn't think I was yanking on it that hard, but...... I would think twice about...
I agree with OregonHiker......way too many parents think BSA stands for babysitters of America. If you have a strong outdoor program the boys will want to stay. It must be a lot of high adventure...
That is so cool! There is someone here in middle TN who has a vanity plate "I HIKE". Personally, I'm too cheap to spend the extra $25 annually for the vanity plates. Rather spend the extra money...
Hiking in the Smokies, stopped on a bald for lunch with several dozen chipmunks running around. One of the chipmunks had a little leather pouch in it's mouth. When I moved towards the chipmunk it...

The wooly adelgid is what the Forest Service is blaming the hemlock's demise on. However, several folks within the TN Environmental Council feel the wooly adelgid is not the root cause. They...

In TN the requirement is at least 500 square inches; which works out to be a vest and hat.
