I did the section from Low Gap to Damascus (15 miles) in 5 1/2 hours today. It is very easy.

However to answer the original question, to go from 19E to Wautauga is not overly strenuous at all....

You should have no problem with this. By the way, Apple House shelter has been torn down, so don't plan on staying there. mountain Harbor is about 300 yards down 19E from the trail intersection.

Did US321 to 19E in upper east Tennessee. Beautiful weather, nice waterfalls and vistas. We too saw several snakes, but no rattlers. This is a nice section.
