I arrive by Amtrak in Harper's Sunday, May 20, staying at Teahorse Hostel overnight, heading north on Monday.
Plan easy pace, side trails a possibility, want to enjoy the trip. Road walk planned...
You can get off the Amtrak "Vermonter" in White River Junction and it is not too bad getting to Hanover from there.
I am going to hike Harpers to PA in July or August of this year. Will do around a 10 miles per day pace, high of 14 low 7. Using AMTRAK for access, Harpers Ferry Station to Harrisburg Station....

We used the Katadyn Base Camp Filter for a Philmont trek last summer. There is a simple "cover" material for the filter core that is easy to rinse off. It was nice to hang a bag of water when setting...

I have stayed in this shelter in the spring and summer. The mice were not too active in the spring. In the summer (july), I had the shelter to myself and had no problem with mice at all.
