I have an Enlightened Equipment quilt for sale. In mint condition. It is all cuben fiber with synthetic fill. I do believe it's rated at 35 degrees but I will have to look back and see if I can...
I plan on giving this a go come fall. Which direction did you hike?
forgot to mention, the price tag isn't as appealing as tevas but well worth it. my first pair lasted through 7 years of abuse and i need to get them resoled... still.
I live in my chacos. Neoprene socks in the cold, cold winter, wool socks for other times and then commando when the heat is up. Also love the injinji wool toe socks with them.
You could start reading some labels for yourself...?
It says "Springer Mountain to Mt. Katahdin on DVD"... is that included with the maps or are the maps on the DVD?...
I love the shelter on blood.. It may be a tad frivolous but I still dig it.. headed up tonight with my pup in fact =)
Apologize for the redundancy. SHoulda read through the thread :p
SOLUTION! Hike SB :banana
Just got my Montbell thermawrap (8 ounces). I hate the grind but the paycheck sure pays off.
=) no worries. I just got a little.. panicked there for a second.
Yeah... who gives a rats a$$ what gear other people use? If it works it works! Shame on ya for a close minded, insolent post.
I also HOPE it doesn't happen. I've heard it's a very good wilderness trail in that it isn't beaten to death like the AT (not a bad thing.. but when I want to be alone, I want to be alone) and it...
I seriously doubt that will happen... it is a very difficult trail relative to normal southern AT conditions. Haven't hiked it yet but this (elevation guide) is enough to show that it is probably...
used to work at a pet supply store and dogs go nuts for these.. they are quite expensive too.. have thought of doing the same for my poochies once i acquire a dehydrator
pricey =p and Judy says I will have it in my hands by the end of March. and.... big dawg.. im confused about your "doublewalled" comment... it is very partially doublewalled in between the netting...
just replaced my Tarptent Moment with the cuben lightheart solo.. waiting on it to be made as we speak.. I get a strong feeling I will like the lightheart better due to the doublewall construction.
If you want a good place to test out your legs prior to your hike, East Palisades is a great place to do it. I live in Atlanta and would be more than happy to show you the East Palisades trail...
(you would think a shoe with little to no drop would include the obviously necessary wider toe box.. but I guess not..)
Guess not =p I just was reading up on the Merrell minimalist shoe and it looks very appealing (though expensive... ugh). I am going to try a pair next weekend and also try out the NB miminus trail.
But that devilish ankle roller of a sole just gets me. I really hope the NB minimi work out for me.. Oh yeah! I forgot about Merrell's new minimalist shoe line... might give them a shot.....
I have used KSO's with no problem on the trail.. until I hike more than 17 miles or so in one day (or if I hit those devilish little rocky sections where it takes more work to avoid the rocks than...
banjo music!
"SQUIRREL!"
(if you are a dog lover you must see the movie Up! . It's fantastic)
