I to would highly recommend the AT / Boulevard route. The Boulevard is quite interesting and has some fantastic views. Very few folks on it .....
I was looking for a hotel to stay in the night before our hike as we would be arriving late in the evening due to the distance we will be coming from.
Since we will be coming there from a bit of a distance, we will most likely arrive the night before we start our hike. I was just going to ask what is the best or closest town that has a decent place...
Thank you very much. I always find Trails Illustrated maps to be very handy.
Thank you all very much. A map would be much appreciated.
I was thinking about making a trip there this fall. I would like to do 3 nights/4 days in the area. Any suggestions for a route that would fit that?
I would have just shot him. Less hassle.[/QUOTE]
A man after my own heart. I'd have to say someone would have got shot in the face and it wouldn't have been me.
The Smokies are great but as others have pointed out, hiking there has it's "issues". Take a look at Shinning Rock & the Art Loeb trail in Pisgah. We had a wonderful time hiking to Cold Mountain...
I think they should be made to negotiate those trails .... just my 2 cents.
What do you expect from sailors? :p
Actually I believe it certainly was in cooperation with. I do recall reading one time it was at the request of the sportsman but I will double check that. Either way, how does that invalidate what I...
I would imagine some lands are still procured with funds from the tax. But, I do think you pose an interesting question. I am off to try and research that one a bit.
First of all, I do not see why I need to do any homework at all. I am stating some things that from my knowledge and experience I know to be fact. If you would like to dispute those facts, then YOU...
The tax is still in place.
Now I would agree with you on just about all of this post. My point was that it was in great part due to the efforts of sport hunters like myself that several species that were on the very brink of...
Yes indeed! They are to be applauded for their efforts!
Amen to that. I too would have popped all three and saved everybody a great deal of trouble and money. That is what a .45 is for ...
Of course! The government is the source of all good. We all know how well the government does things. I think that if you were to do a little research you would see that it was the sport hunters and...
I highly doubt you need worry about that considering where you live. What he meant was that it was the hunters and a controlled hunting season that were instrumental in bringing the bear population...
Tell us a story please ... :banana
I wish I could provide some information. We ended up changing our plans and hiking the Balsam Mountain Trail through Laurel Gap to Tricorner. There was sufficient water on that route but it is of...
I have only had to deal withthem once but they were extremely responsive and kind. Perhaps I just got lucky for once ..LOL:D
That is EXACTLY why I have one. Better than nothing for my 12 year old if something were to happen to me.
I was just there last weekend. It is said that water is ok north of Newfound Gap. We were at Laurel Gap - Tricorner. That proved to be the case. The water was a bit low but there.
