The problem is probably the air mattress.
They provide zero insulation. A fleece or an 1/8" thick foam pad on top of the mattress won't help much either.

Don't have either book in front of me, but does the Companion say "There is no water between...", or does it just not mention that there is water between the shelter and Jennings Creek?

But that is one of my favorite things about hiker get togethers.... seeing folks that aren't going hiking and haven't been hiking, but are still all dressed up as a hiker.

Stains are not a warranty issue. Spot cleaning them with a toothbrush and some Nikwax Tech-Wash may take care of some of them.

What did you use to wash the jacket? Regular detergent won't do much...
