I would fuly disclose my blue blazing. To me it would be a thru hike, but to others it may not. I would allow everyone their own opinions but it wouldnt hurt me if someone said that my blue blazing...

For me its not about the patch, but my interpretation of that statement means that anyone going from Springer - Katadyn or vice versa no matter what colour the blazes deserves to apply for the patch...

I like this point. I wouldnt use it as purely a shortcut thing, I would have to take others recommendations and personal research to figre out my route.

Thank you. So if I was planning a thru hike in 2010 and would like the extra info of the guide books would it be best to wait until November 09 to buy them if they go on sale?

What is the difference between the trail map set and trail guide sets sold by the ATC?
Do the guides include the same maps jus more info?
