Dumb idea... you might not be aware of this but there are many people who thru-hike who live NOWHERE near the trail. so now with your idea they have to join some trail club, pay dues, and then some...

umm sure.. if they are not frozen, they will be running..... there is no way to know... you realize how many factors go into this ? could they be running ?yes... could they all be frozen? YES........

Its more of an issue on Whiteblaze then when you're really out there hiking. If (and its a big IF) your dog is trained and well behaved you will have little to no issues with people on the trail....
