Just a short section, probably Silverton to Durango around the first week of September.
I diluted some 10% permethrin concentrate used for livestock. It's cheap but has a strong smell so I only use it for pants.
How does the Sawyer's smell?

Nah the East is far inferior to the West but you're right, it still beats being at work.

The socks I didn't like at all. Probably spoiled by Darn Tough.
They are best eaten after you've already hiked for a couple of months.
I've never cared for them but a guy was giving me some he didn't like towards the end of a thru. I was devouring those things.

I've never replaced the insoles.
Passed three guys at Elbert last year carrying their bikes up to the summit. Took them a really long time to get up there but they flew down.
Did Huron while I was there. Pretty mild climb. So worth it!

Hiked the loop Sept 3-10. Busiest area for mtb riders was on the east side CT section 14. Considering it was the Sunday before Labor Day it really wasn't too crowded. I ran in to a half dozen more...
