I am from a Vermont, traveling down south for fun next week, and looking for a couple scenic loop hikes along the Appalachian Trail in the south. Looking to camp for one or two nights on the loop...
2017 is it for me. Have had two different planned thru hikes not pan out due to many reasons. But 2017 is it, all obligations will be taken care of, and putting it far out enough that I'll be...

There has been a huge amount of car break ins at trailheads in Vermont this year. Leave nothing in your car, and leave car unlocked. Save yourself a broken window.
You can see fireworks from every direction. Did it a few years ago. Def worth doing.
Plus we have been getting an earlier and earlier winter here in Vermont in recent years. So watch out for that, footing up north is bad when wet. South of Killington not as bad though. Good luck and...
Consider September, even late in the month, you will have much better luck. And I agree with Wild Bill, go SOBO.

What would make them take the mileage out of the end to Enders guide? Glad I got my old one with it still there...
Sorry to anyone I offended. Just feel a lot of people on this site come across the wrong way...
I went, mostly snow. I'd say 90 percent of the way.
One reason I can't stand this website some days, get all these critical people overbearing opinions and telling me what I have to do and not do. While it's up to me if I go, postponing until trail...
I forgot it was already the time of year they suggest the trails not be used...
I am going out for a three day hike, started at Route 30 in Manchester, and ending at the swinging bridge at Route 103. I'm def prepared for the snow. Yet part of me foolishly thinks the snow will be...
