Very true. This is my 3-4 day hike setup.
Im sure this clears a lot up.
Let me start with I usually only do 3-4 day hikes.
I usually wear an undershirt and a longsleeve with conversion pants. I carry a capline3 base layer, underarmor compression pants, and an extra...
I will drop the mini for now.
Thanks !
No, the Sawyer Filter system comes with a 1L bag and I use that also. If I know water is limited I will bring my 1L platypus as well.
I find the headlamp is too bright in the hammock. Mini was perfect, but since I no longer hammock camp (at the moment) I will not carry it.
I made a slimple gatherend end 11' hammock out of 1.9oz ripstop. It is real simple and was my first time sewing.
golite seems to have a nice one and a great price !
I prefer tuna packs, a few crackers, and a Clif bar.
Platypus 0.5L and 1.0L
Light weight and fold up when not using.
Zelph stoves/pots are the way to go. I have had my share of stoves.
Current setup: Vargo Ti Wood Stove and Snow Peak Ti 600ml Pot !!
I had a Sierra Desings Arrow Rock 15* Down bag and loved it. It was a mummy but was made with Flex Technology which gave a little more room when needed.
I now use GoLite down bags. Great price,...
Nice. I was wondering myself.
Thanks !
I just sold 2 DB Trailbacks and purchased 1 DB Alpine Carbon Pole. 1 works for me.
+1 on the GoLite. Great prices and you can return if you do not like. No problem.
I went from a Z55 to a Jam and swapped up gear to lighten my load. I loved the Z55 but prefer the Jam. Its all how you pack it. Its really up to you !
I have used pack covers in the past but if it rains hard your pack still gets wet. I suggest a trash compactor bag.
One of my dogs knows words, the other not so much !!
Any left ?
True. The mini is great for hanging it on your ridgeline in hammock.
Cant edit yet and wanted to say this is my winter setup. A lot of weight in clothing.
Finally got my base weight down to a decent weight. Any suggestion/comments. Mainly hike in southeast.
PACK
GoLite Peak
A friend has the ULA Ohm and loves it. We came from Gregory Z55s. I do, however like what Gossamer Gear is doing with their new packs.
I vote Go-Lite Jam50L for weight, cost, and comfort. The new model now has load lifters whick I like. Like all frameless pack its all how you pack it. I have had the old Jam, new Jam50, but now I use...
Merrell Chameleon 3 Mid Gore-Tex !
