hello all
I'm looking to find some local hiking trails in or VERY close to Waynesville, NC.
I know about the trails such as Big East Fork (on 276) and the trails up on the Blue Ridge...
they make caffeine free ones too.
I like using the bottles to put fuel in for overnight trips. It's not much, but can help with fires in rain!
Treat yourself to a pair of Innov8 shoes (the best price around is on running warehouse's site, PM me if you want to know how to get a 15% off coupon).
The government has to protect us from ourselves. :-P
This is a good time of year to "bushwhack." Less snakes, ticks, etc etc!
If you are a good employee, I would put in a resignation letter ASAP. 6 weeks out, 5 weeks, out 2 weeks out, doesn't matter. Common decency to let your employer find a replacement.
I wouldn't...
also look into some Innov8 shoes. I know a guy who has 3000 miles on a pair....3000 miles of running, not hiking.
I have a pair, but they just don't work for my feet. So to each his own.
...
it's now time for you to setup some whiteblazes for others to follow!
man up.
so those aren't mayapples? correct?
the white one is a mayapple, is the red one the same thing? I've never seen a red version.

eBay has PB2 as well, decent prices.
johnny if you need anything from town within the next 24 hours send me a private message and I can bring it to the NOC.
i haven't read all of the posts in this thread, but I think the idea of planting a tree with a small "in memory of" sign would be nice.
INOV8s are great. I use them for trail running when I do it (pronounced trail jogging!)
The key for me is to not lace them tight and my feet are happy. Great traction.
I agree about a get together. Something good would be the lakeshore trail that runs between Fontatna Damn and Bryson City (about 36 miles)
if you already have a hammock like a Henn. maybe you could use that as your "tent." You would still neeed trees to secure your rainfly on top.
I took a couple slabs with me this past weekend. I was pleased. I did amend the original recipe on the first post and added somewhere between a tablespoon and teaspoon of good old fashioned (home...
Some good ideas floating around. I will try the paste.
I have been using cotton balls soaked in alcohol & stored in a pill bottle.
Funny how this turned to a Rudolph thread. I've seen a few refeerences to people saying he hid on the trail. Impossible. I live in that area and I had ATF and FBI agents visiting our property on...
i'm bringing it up again just to get under your skin l. Wolf! :-)
seriously though, it's in backpacker this month (another POS according to some). But it goes to show how positive real trail...
I say carry a hanky. If you are in town surely it could wait till you hit a restroom and found some TP
jelly would crystalize
Maybe i'll make a few and put them in the vacuum sealer. On my next trip I plan on mainly eating soups so this will work out good.
hmm, maybe I will get some boullion cubes, crush them, and cook...
Yeah, teeth were bad then so you soaked it.
Actually, most of the time it was stored months at a time and would get bugs in it. They would soak it in their coffee or hot water a few minutes, bugs...
