I hope that each of you who love Christmas will have a lovely one tomorrow. Here at Sugar Grove, Virginia, we are having some snow. Tonight our temps are to sit at 19 degrees or so. As a child in subtropical southernmost Texas. even this little bit would have created joy in my heart. Now as someone who has never resented snow (because it still seems magical to me), I find that it reaffirms the Santa Claus type celebration of Christmas. The music, the cards, the big smiles on people's faces as they wish me "Merry Christmas!" remind me what it is really all about. For those who are of the same faith, I hope that you have read Hoosier's journal for 2013. He tells us how important walking is in many delightful words. Merry Christmas, all of you, even the Grinches.

not to thread hijack,this reminds me of a guy I met somewhere in the Shenandoah's...he was attempting a thruhike but had exhausted his budget. he would get into town and stay 3-4 days. he said he loved the AT, he just hated backpacking.
