There's no turning back now! If you have the opportunity you might consider going to Trail Days this year. There are usually lots of gear vendors . . . .

If anything changes, please update via a reply to this thread or send me a PM.

After you have completed your hike, don't forget to report back in with completion dates and how far you hiked!

Good Luck and Have Fun everyone!

See you on the trail (next year),

Traveller and Digital will be walking north from Harper's Ferry around May 9th. We hope to flip-flop and walk as far as we can by mid-October.
We do this to be happy.

Catnapper will be flip flopping, starting at TN91 just south of Damascus, and heading North. I'll then head south to Springer. I've hiked the further southern sections in the last years, and wanted to both avoid some of the crowds, as well as see some new territory. In past years, life (weddings, graduations, family vacations...) kept me from a thru. I'm not sure I want to thru this year, but I'll see. Honestly, I just enjoy meandering up the trail, and seeing all the sights. If there is something off the side of the trail, I may very likely go to see it. I'm planning to start March 10.
    Trail name Catnapper

Trail Name: I don't have one, yet.
    Direction: NOBO
Estimated Start Date: Mid March, hopefully the week of March 9th
    Approach Trail: Yes
I just decided to thru-hike earlier this week after being laid off last week. I'm probably not as prepared as those who have been planning and training for the last year; but, I honestly don't care. I've wanted to do this forever and I fully intend to HMOH. I don't really have a schedule or an agenda and plan to just take each day as it comes at me. If I feel like zeroing, I will. If I feel like checking out stuff in town, I will. I've waited entirely too long to do this and don't intend to let things such as limits, pace, schedules, agendas, etc. get in the way. Here's to Katahdin!

After 25 years working in an office I am looking forward to some time oiutside. Did New York state and half of CT section of the AT last year to get a feel of things and I have been waiting in anticipation since. How slow time passess when having to work another year looking out your office window at the mountains.....
