SMD Scout. Loving it so far. No complaints, but I haven't tested it in heavy rain. I have in light to moderate rain and it held up perfectly.
Currently using an MLD Solomid XL. It's been poured on a couple times now and I stay dry. Still working through the single wall condensation learning curve, definitely easy to get frustrated with but when I think about the times it's been soaked inside I know why it happened. It's easy to get a drum-tight pitch with and sheds the wind very well, haven't been through a severe storm yet but moderate gusting barely even shakes it.
MLD makes some nice stuff and being right there near the trail they should know what works.Originally Posted by mattjv89

I use a Hexamid Solo w/ beak, netting, and bathtub floor. I get condensation, but it is doable.
Tarptent Contrail when with my hiking buddies.
Just picked up a BA Fly Creek UL4 on clearance from STP (which BA does not appear to make anymore) to use with the family....just over 5lbs for a 4 person tent, I was pretty impressed.

Thank you and I love it. If I didn't go with the Cirriform sw-1person I would have got a tarptent- Contrail 1person or make my own.
Connie I think we have similar tastes in gear. I have the seek outside base and inner nest that I just got a couple weeks ago. I have yet to get the vestibule but will likely do so in the near future. I plan to use the base + borah bivy for my lightest weight trips. If weather is bad enough that site selection can't fix it I'll pitch it in the A frame style configuration (lower the front pole and use another pole or stick to raise the back end). The tarp and bivy comes in at 25 ounces in the stuff sacks with guy line and micro line locs attached. Maybe not ultralight by a lot of standards here, but I really like it. He did just release a cuben version also.
Funny enough I picked up the 2 person nest just so I could use the LBO with my girlfriend and it is actually a really nice stand alone shelter for fair weather. Great size for 1 plus gear but pretty tight for 2. I expect I'll be using it as my main shelter when the forecast is pretty clear on shorter trips. It is unique in that only the front is mesh and the back and sides are silnylon so it can be used in a light rain by itself. Really unexpected how much I like the nest for my personal use.

TarpTent Moment if it's just me (the 1-version back, slightly lighter one). Or for two people I had a Bilgy Tarp Tent made which is super roomy and lightweight (well, for silnylon of course).
Tarptent Moment DW (sort of "L" and barely "UL") but I got it for winter use too. Needed ripstop inner to keep southern Utah wind-blown dust out.
This tent is VERY wind-worthy.

Tarptent Contrail currently. Would like to try the newer version that came out this month.
I have the biggest Hyperlight Mountain Gear cuben tarp (8x10) which weighs 9.6 oz with the guy lines. It is awesome.
I also have a TarpTent Moment.
Which is pretty much the condition of the AT .
