Default short plus size woman wants input on loose fit tops

I love polartec fabrics. I do a lot of canoeing in addition to day hikes and the polartech fleece tights and tops are comfortable. I'd like to find high quality tops and pullovers that are possibly mid thigh, almost like a tunic, or at least cover the butt. Does anyone have any suggestions? Most of the high-tech clothing is much more close-fitting than I prefer.

    Thanks...

Saw this in the Todays Posts section.
Might want to consider the Columbia PFG line. Very comfy and somewhat loose fitting

I don't know how to help you but you are right. They just don't make this stuff for plus size women. They must think you have to be skinny to do these kind of things I guess. I find it very aggravating.

Thanks, I'll look at the Columbia line...

I can find the stuff that fits, I just don't like the tops so short. I realize the closer fit is warmer and lighter in pack weight...but I want a different fit.

Hellooooo manufacturers...are you out there? I have $$$ to spend...but you have to meet my needs! :-)

I did some checking and ordered some yardage of a variety of genuine polartec fabrics. Malden Mills lists on their website a place to place small orders from their mill. Yay! I have several patterns that will be appropriate for outdoor wear and fabric type. It has been a while since I did much sewing, but I'm looking forward to this project.

Where do you find pants to fit? This is really frustrating.
