    Thanks. I started this thread to warn AT hikers.

    Touching on what some others have said, this area is going to be pretty tough to find a person in. There are a lot of dense woods, and also a lot of vacant vacation homes where he can hide out in. I just hope that with the leaves dropping and hunters wandering around he may get caught soon.

    You think the PA State Police wewen't serious about this guy? NY news reports that they handcuffed him with the slain officer's cuffs and drove him to the barracks in his patrol car!

    Good job by the Pa. police and they showed their professionalism in two areas. No one else got hurt and they took him alive. Without the gunfight the bad guy was hoping for, Good job not lowering your selves to his level.

    When a police officer is killed, it is standard practice -- at least in Pennsylvania -- to handcuff the alleged perpetrator in this manner when he (it's almost never a 'she') is caught.

    Sadly, there have been so many cops shot to death in Philadelphia in and since 2007 that I have come to expect this.
