    Default Shennies in 2015

Hiking the Shennies and on up to PA in the summer of 2015. What is the deal on resupplies/concession stands in the park? are they open for supper, if so how late? What sort of resupply (if any) do they carry? Beer? Any insights will be appreciated!

I went through there mid-April of this year. It was the second week that all services were open. Every place was open for supper but I cannot remember until what time but to give you some idea there was still maybe an hour or two of sunlight left after eating. Waysides had OK resupply but it was still early in the season so the pickings were slim. I did not look for beer so I cannot help there. It was a great time to go as there was barely anyone in the park.

On my April section hike through SNP, most waysides were open but some of the campgrounds and the camp stove at Loft Mountain was closed. Hours vary by season and are usually posted on the SNP website. I did eat at all waysides and purchased snacks at the Lewis Mountain camp store. I could have made it through the park with much less food than I carried.

Here is the link to the site mentioned above. It has not been updated with next year's schedule yet.

Some of the waysides also make some killer milkshakes... The breakfast buffet at Skyland is also a must stop.
