Default Park for 3 night section hike at Springer or Amicalola?

For an upcoming section hike, I'm curious about whether to park at the Springer Mnt. parking lot or Amicalola. My main concern is vandals. I'd prefer to park at Springer so I hike more of the actual trail. If I park at Amicalola, I will reach Springer on my last day and have to leave the following morning. Is there a way to search for recent crimes at trailheads? Should this be less of a concern for a 3 day trip? Due to time and traveling with others, a shuttle from Amicalola to Springer isn't an option.

    Thanks in advance!

Shouldn't be a problem. Just take the usual precautions of leaving nothing valuable in plain sight. No sense tempting someone.

I have parked numerous times at Springer (and know others who have also parked there) for several days at a time, and never had a problem. Just do as Slo-go'en says and leave nothing in the car of value that could be seen. There is traffic there, people coming and going, and vandals tend not to strike there.
