Default lighter cheaper croc alternative.....RedHead Ragin Water Shoe

Initial impressions are a fraction of the weight of crocs, more secure for things like water crossings of steep terrain, 1/2 the price.

A pair should come in at about 8oz (4oz each).
That's pretty much the exact shoe I found at WalMart a year ago. I use them as my camp/water crossing shoes.

    [Edit]
Yea, just checked and my size 10 come in a 8.3oz for the pair.

And OUCH!!! $20 at Bass Pro Shop. I know I got mine in the $10-12 range when I found them at WalMart. Haven't seen any at Walmart lately, but other that the color of the stripes, that is the exact shoe I got at Walmart.

Nice find, but they still look bulky.

A pricer alternative is a pair of vibram five fingers.

Easy enough to use the "shoe laces" and a small carabiner to clip them on the outside of the pack.
(The "shoe laces" are fixed bungy cord, the shoe's don't actually lace up).
