    Default WTS: Cut Down Neoair

    *this is SOLD*

    Used a few times with backpack at feet but still in very clean/excellent condition.
    Started out as a Large (25") and cut down to slightly over 40 inches tall. Very clean seal job where it was cut down. Will not leak.
    "25inch"(more like 23") x 40inch, 8.8oz

    cut my XL Neoair XTherm back about 18" and then took it on the Ptarmigan Trav last yr.. no probs whatsoever..

    I have a used LW SynMat UL7 I'm gonna try cutting back this spring..

    because 77" (or 78" for the Exped LW) is ridiculous... Cut it back to a more usable length.. save wt at the same time and have a 25" wide pad.. The 'cut back', when done properly is every bit as good as factory.. in fact when I finished with my XTherm the bond was twice as wide as the original...

    BaNosser, did you use the same method on your XTherm as in the video? I've been considering doing this but I haven't found a video for the XTherm.

    Yes.. that is the vid I used... here is a thread I posted about it on NWHikers last yr

    like I stated in that thread.. start longer than your target length (maybe only take 2 inches off)... good practice.. then on your second attempt or when you feel confident go at your desired length...

    the inner reflective/insulating material needs to be cut back so the top and bottom material can be fused with nothing in its way..
