    Default air mattress ?

So how do you blow up your air mattress? I bought an Exped bellows (1.5 oz) hoping it would fit my thermorest , Well it did not fit. I'll go to Home Depot to see if I can make an adapter out of an inch of a couple of different sized tubings. I'ld rather not do the hyperventilation thing by blowing it up by mouth. So what are my choices?
    Thanks!!!

For backpacking I blow it up by mouth, the Neo Air is pretty good with that.

For car camping which I use a BA air core, this one I loathe to blow up by mouth, I use the Instaflator at 1.7 oz. I have considered backpacking with it however it is really not a problem with the Neo Air

By mouth. I have a Neoair too, and it works reasonably well.

There was recently a link to a video on using a trash compactor bag. I tried it with a regular garbage bag and it worked well. I'll try to find the link for you.

That was easier than I thought. Here you go:

As I said, I tried it, worked quite well. Two trash bags virtually filled my XTherm.

the schnozzel bag fit with force or you can make one with a bag and soda bottle cap.

I blow it up by mouth. It takes about 30 breaths but once I've hit my stopping point for the day, I have plenty of time to do this.

I've checked out several of the inflation sacks and pillows and none of them really appeal to me. Seems like wasted space/weight to haul a gadget to do something that I can otherwise achieve without a problem.

Inflating my pad is not a race.

Schnozzle bag fits the Sea to Summit air mattresses like they were designed for it. Less than two bags to fill my mattress.

Trash compactor bag and one of those pony tail holder bands from my wife. Clip the corner off the bag and use pony tail holder to secure it. Normally only takes two inflations and air mattress is full. Use breath to get firmer if needed.

Some days, it's not worth chewing through the restraints.

Trash bag or stuff sack works great, and you're already carrying it. Works with any stuff sack, trash bag, grocery bag, etc.

Put in mouth and inflate. It takes less than a minute. I have no idea why anyone would do anything else.

The one legit reason is that moisture degrades the mylar coating on neoair baffles, causing loss of R value. But thats what warranties are for.

If i remember right, my short xlite takes 11 breaths, long takes 18. I know it takes about 50 sec to inflate the long.

I bought a Big Agnes pump house, and found it to be a major pain in the @@@. I just blow it up by mouth, takes less than a minute.

Trash compactor bag is the way to go. I also have a Therm-A-Rest inflation kit (a piece of tubing with a fitting) that works really well with the bag. If you blow it up by mouth you will collect moisture inside the pad that will, eventually, become moldy.
