Ever come back to your bladder and realized that you forgot to empty it - a month ago?

    Been there.

My Camelbak bladder actually looked and smelled clean after a month but got a good washing and vinegar rinse just to be safe.

    Default Bleach your bladder

I do the capful of bleach in the bladder method. I only put potable or filtered water in my bladder and haven't had any problems. Sometimes I forget about it and it sits for a while but I haven't detected any chlorine taste. I drain it through the tube to ensure that it gets treated. I put the bite valve in through the filling port to keep the bladder expanded and prop it so it will drain and air. I do the same with my Sawyer water bags and hang them to drain and air.

I toss everything inside my bladder, including my Sawyer, and use a disinfectant tab.
