Yep...I made pretty much exactly that bead roller. It usually cuts through the can right in the center, where the can is unsupported while starting to form the ridge. First, I tried adding some tubing that matches the outer diameter of the grooved wheel to better support the can. It helped but I think I need to make one with a more shallow grooved wheel to give better support while initially forming the groove. Then as it takes shape I'll switch to a more deeply grooved wheel. So either I need to build a second bead roller, or figure out a way to have interchangeable heads on the one I already made. That's as far as I got before other projects took priority....
Hang in there, you'll get the feel of it and make some nice ridges. Lots of videos out there showing how it's done.
