The Sly one makes a stealth attempt and sneaks in 2100!

    Final POHO push can commence.

What is comforting is that his "MPH-to-finish" is dropping, currently about 45 to go in 26 hours, or 1.73 MPH continuous. It seems to have been stuck at 1.8 for a while. but then again, he does have to take a short break (I would think) sometime in the next 24 hours.
At Nahmakanta Lake it looks like 41 miles in 25 hours = 1.65 mph. But … if you add four miles for the final climb (1000 feet = 1 mile is a pretty good estimate, I think) you get 1.8 mph. But he has a couple miles along the Nahmakanta beach right now.

yep, 41 in 25 hours = 1.64 MPH-TO-finish... that is dropping nicely, the more it drops of course the more pad he has for Katadin.

    Ha, ha so I did.

Other than a couple/three catnaps, regular sleep is probably out of the question.

Why can't he be at Hurd already. Then have an easy walk into Abol and the waiting van.

If he can get to Abol Bridge by 3 am, he can catch a few hours' refreshing winks before cranking out the final 15. If he's able to sleep, that is.
    The more miles, the merrier!

Pamola, Pamola, unlock your mighty doors
I've come thousands of miles thru Appalachian lore
Climbed many a mountain, slept many a night
Dreamt of you often, now oh what a sight
Pamola Pamola let me wearily pass
    thru ye Mountain King's hall
    Katahdin at last!

3 am seems optimistic for Abol Bridge, so 11 am would seem the earliest finish imaginable.

sure makes sense, getting to that Hurd Brook lean-to tonight, "only" about 20 more miles, call it 9-10 hours, 2am-ish, get 3 hours, start at 5am, 10 more hours gets him done at 3pm. Whew.

As it appeared it would be nice to know if he spent last night off-road and in the woods? if so I would imagine someone on his crew walked in to meet him.

Also, as much as Brew was given credit for Jen's success, it appears Scott's wife Jenny has been equal in the task.

I'd start with a dozen Krispy Kreme glazed doughnuts @5 & hit some Starbucks Italian Roast Via's half way up & call it a day @3!
