McQueens Gap, TN

How is the parking at McQeens Gap TN? My data book says that it's a US Forest Service Road and there is parking available. Does anyone know how the road is (gravel, rough?) and if the parking area is likely to be full on a late Sunday afternoon? I want to leave a car here and then get a ride to Elk Garden to and hike back to the car. Thanks!

I wouldn't call it a parking area really -just enough room for a car or two to pull out of the road. The road is in decent shape. Low Gap on US 421 3.5 miles further south has a much larger parking area. I can't vouch for the safety of either area for extended parking.
