Default VIDEO: Ultra Light Sit Pad...On The Trail

Over the course of the past year or so I have come to love my Dutchware Gear ultra light sit pad. At just over a half of an ounce even the gram counter in me loves it! I keep it stored in the back mesh compartment of my packs and easily pull it out EVERY time I take a break and sit down. This truly makes my breaks (and breaks are my favorite part of backpacking trips) more enjoyable.

    Thanks for watching.

I bought one with my last batch of Dutchware but haven't been out with it yet. Glad to see it's been field tested and approved. Looking forward to your next LT video.

I use a Z-Seat by Thermarest. A tad heavier at 60g, but yeah, it's an accessory that gets a lot of use!

    Looks really good, thanks!

What do you think about having the same material in a larger size as back support for a pack, and also as a thin sleeping pad for lower legs? I currently use a cut-down piece of Multimat Superlite Compact foam which comes in at 53 grams (1.9 oz) so the Dutchware material should be even lighter?

    Yep.

Never understood the need to carry a pad just for sitting. And I'm old
The older I get, the faster I hiked.

I am not sure if it can be manufactured larger?? In mid-range temps I also use it in the foot-box of my hammock and it works well there.
