$40 is tough. Shipping on one will probably eat $10-12 because of the size. Since they usually run $80 new, you might get lucky and find someone willing to part with one for that.

I would part for mine for around $50 plus shipping but that's way higher than your range.

Best suggestions I have are to look local and check REI sales if you have one local. It's just not an item I see changing hands all that commonly.

I didn't know that ISO meant 'In Search Of'*, though that was WTB (Want To Buy), I guess both are used. My first thoughts on seing ISO is some brand name or the use of it for fuel such as ISO-butane.

Mebbe regional. I've seen ISO used in want ads in newspapers all my life and only recently became familiar with WTB.

I may just end up renting one, though. I don't go through bear canister-required areas often enough to buy one, I plan to just use an ursak whenever a BC isn't required.
