Sad, most americans expect to be entertained. Gatlinburg is bigger attraction than gsmnp itself.

Honestly, its a good thing the average obese american butt stays attached to car seat eating mcdonalds while looking at national parks out the window.

Yup. We saw some tourons trying to get an up close picture of an obviously very agitated bison at Mud Volcano, YNP. We got out of there real fast.

We were at a zoo once, groundhog exhibit.
A woman near us told her kid "look at the beavers"
Kid asked "what they eating?"
Mom said "their eating wood"

My wife leaned over to zoo employee standing near and said" i bet youve heard a lot of unusual things" tne employee just smiled and said " you have no idea".

My family and I went to Grand Canyon and on the way back I wanted to go to the Arizona Meteor Crater. My wife and daughter said "Why? It is just a big hole in the ground. We saw a big hole in the ground already." We didn't go.
