Default long trail and heady topper report

Just got back from two days on the long trail. I dayhiked in and out heading north from appalachian gap. Wet but not muddy. I hiked up towards the camels hump on the second day but was repelled by icy above 3000 feet. should have brought microspikes!. Probably about the last of the sunny hike days this year.

scored 4 cases of headyT and headed home as rain was due in next day.

I first tasted Heady Topper during my End to End in 2014. I was at the Old Stagecoach Inn in Waterbury, and it was like magic in my mouth. Having lost a huge amount of weight during the hike up to that point, I also felt the effects of that beer far more that I normally would have.
Of course, being cold and wet, and the first thing I had after a hot hitchhike from the trail the day after going over the Hump, it was bound to be a transcendent experience. However, HT later on after the hike was over proved that this was the real deal...a way better than average beer (and Vermont has more than it's fair share of very good beers!)
I wish I could get it up here in Canada, but that's not likely any time soon. I wish I could hike the LT again...but that too isn't likely any time soon.

Yeah, we did the same thing (and we stayed at the Old Stagecoach in Waterbury). In our case we came down from App Gap into Waitsfield and went to The Mad Taco, where we sampled Heady Topper (excellent) and some Lawson's beers (way way way beyond excellent).

Being on foot we couldn't score any cases to bring home, alas. Very jealous of juma in this regard.

Also got a case of Lawson's "sunshine" now being brewed on large scale in Connecticut!

Sip of Sunshine is more readily available now, and one of my favorites. Double Sunshine is brewed less and is absolutely unreal.

Sip of Sunshine was one of our all-time favorites. Had it a couple of times on our hike. Unreal.
