    It's all cool.

Just never heard the term "pine barrens" used in Florida.

Except for the course in Brooksville.

The trouble I have with campfires are the folks that carry a bottle in one hand and a Bible in the other.
You never know which one is talking.

Brooksville's streets always confused me, then the SR 50 reroute didn't help either☺.
Never did pay any attention to where the golf couse was are you in town or east in Ridge Manor?

This course is world woods and it is listed as brooksville, which technically I suppose it is hernando county but it is closer to me here in citrus off of sr 98. If im not mistaking I think the section of florida trail passes next to it in the hernando county section of it.

Our property was hard on the Trail Trail about 1.5 miles north of Istachatta.
DW didn't want to stay there after staying there for the hurricane that didn't really effect us here on the coast.
We sold the place for what we had in it after the real estate bubble broke.

In answer to your original question, that gray trail was a part of the original FT, believe it or not, at one time that was the Southern Terminus. Now, the FT actually follows Stage Coach Trail to the east, then south on south Pleasant Grove Rd. Quite a bit of road walking in that area. You can download the GPS track at my site listed in my signature below, I recommend using Garmin's Basecamp software along with Florida Topo from gpsfiledepot.com. You don't need a GPS to use Basecamp and you can display and print from it as well.
