    It is not euthanasia in any case. The bear was not put down to relieve it of terrible chronic pain. It was killed because it was thought to be dangerous. Not at all the same thing.

    Yup, DNA tests prove they killed the wrong bear. The excuse given the somewhat large male was too heavy to drag out to captivity to await the test results.

    Feral Bill is absolutely correct. It was not the watered down more generally socially acceptable by humans euthanasia that describes the killing accurately.
