    I suppose. There's also the canister with just one boil left in it. I never do just one boil on a trip; I like a hot meal at night and coffee in the morning.

    For me, it breaks down to:
    • Deep winter: White gas stove.
    • Fire ban (rare where I hike): Canister.
    • Impatient hiking partner: Canister.
    • Other times: Homebrew alcohol stove.
    I always know where I am. I'm right here.

    I had many partially used canisters set aside. When the power went out one winter they proved to be quite useful.
