Parking for section hike in Virginia

I plan on doing a section from Waynesboro to USFS 246. Can someone tell me if USFS 246 is drivable with a car? I only found one journal online that stated road is bad when it rains and he is on room for two cars. Is there another road nearby I could use? Thanks in advance

I left my car at milepost 51.7 on the Blueridge Parkway. It connects with USFS 246. That way the rangers ride by every once in a while and you don't have to be concerned if it rains.
