    Nice start moosling.
    I would suggest folding the wick in half and leaving it flush with the top of the fancy feest can though as to allow for A better burn and heat distribution ... I usually leave about 1 3/4 inches of pot stand(soda can,tomato can etc) from the top of my cat food can . and I fold up my wick so it is flush with the cat food can top thus leaving the soda can exposed...

    The first picture is made with bud light stadium bottle and fiberglass wick so you get the idea of how I fold it.
    The second picture is with A 7.5 ounce soda can with carbon felt wick but again you get the idea of were I cut it.
    If I die trying now I wont die wondering how life could have turned out.....

    LOL Dan thats as bad as going to gainsville with A Seminoles hat on
