For over a year I've been using these shoes as my hiking shoes. I love them!
I just started wearing the Hoka Challenger ATX, LOVE, LOVE, LOVE them! I'm recovering from a nasty tear in my plantar fascia and these shoes allowed me to do a 50-mile section this fall. Happy trails!
"Your comfort zone is a beautiful place, but nothing ever grows there."
I tried the Mafate speed, and the SpeedGoat, both were way too narrow for me. I had looked at the Challenger, but decided to go back to the tried and true Stinson.
I tried on the Mafate in a store and felt like my ankles would roll constantly on the trail. Way too high up--like I was wearing high heels. (Not that I wear high heels too often.) Is that just something people get used to with these shoes? Or are they really more stable on rocks and uneven terrain than they initially appeared to be?
