Default Anyone have experience with any Omniwool products?

I was in Sam's Club today and they've got some base layer thermal wool tops (long sleeve) and pants. These are 80% polyester and 20% merino wool. They were about $12-13 each in the store and are listed at $13.98 each on the Sam's website.

They also have Omniwool Merino Wool Hiker Socks at $15 for 3 pair and the socks get real good reviews on their website from people who say they've used them for long distance hikes.

Anyone ever used any of these Omniwool products?

    Thanks...Mike

Not that specific brand, but similar, and I was happy. If the price is right, I'd buy.

The socks are awful. I bought a whole armload in the garage behind the Famous Brands outlet in Watkins Glen. I won't wear them out of the house. The "wool" attracts water from the humidity in the air. I never get blisters except when I wear them. I'd rather hike in cotton socks than those.

The socks I didn't like at all. Probably spoiled by Darn Tough.

How many monkey butlers will there be?

One at first. But he'll train others.

the thermals are two layer. the inner layer is 100% polyester, it's the outer layer that's 80/20. this doesn't bother me, though, I actually like polyester.

and I do like the garment itself. I tried the zip neck. it's a little heavy and the thumb hole thing is bogus as far as I'm concerned but overall, a really nice value...

the socks are virtually the same as the well regarded Costco brand Merino socks. both are thicker than I prefer though...
