Default DIY Caldera mini type cone thingy .....

Watched A couple of youtube videos and decided to try to make my own mini caldera type cone that would fit in my zelph ridged fosters pots.
Here is what I came up with . It is 5 1/2 inches tall and has about 2 1/2 inches of room from bottom of pot to surface leaving me about an inch or so of flame to bottom of pot with the burner I will use with this combo. weight is 21 grams. Its not perfect but it is my first one. I had to use A paper hole punch because I could not get the hole punch set I bought to puncture the aluminum ...

Looking good. Put another row of holes at the top and try it with some fire. Show us how you connected the ends. Paper punch looks like it did ok. It's nice that it could fit inside the pot. going to be a nice kit.

Attaching it was the tricky part.I messed up the first one because I cut it to short and almost messed up the second one lol.
I will take pictures tomorrow of how Ii attached it but I basically just bent the edges opposite so they would slide together ...
And will put fire to it tomorrow as well . not dure if the paper punch will fit that far down but will try to modify it so it will.

Use the punch to elongate the holes you already have if you can't alter the paper punch to go deeper.

If you use esbit the holes you have may work, give it a try.

Hey there I tested it out the last day I had off of work and with esbit it works fine.
With alcohol burner I will have to make the holes bigger.
Will be getting A sizer drill bit in the future and sizing the top holes a bit.

As long as you are an esbit man leave it as is.

I have a dozen or so of those Foster cans with lids. I'll list them sometime in the future.

You'll know if you don't have enough holes for alcohol if you get some flare ups. (As I learned from Zelph.)
