    Default Shenandoah Trip Help

Can someone help me with this described route for moormans river loop?

    https://blog.virginia.org/2016/06/vi...packing-trips/

I have the map for this area but cannot find the described loop. Have the starting area pin pointed... Anyone done this before!

    Thanks,
    K2

It's not shown as a loop on your map, more of an out and back. This map shows the river trail and other connectors, but it still won't be a loop. https://www.nps.gov/shen/planyourvis..._area_2013.pdf

You can make a loop my using the AT and the North Fork Moorman's River Trail. You can park at Blackrock Gap, Turk Gap or Garmin Gap to access the AT. Here is a really old pdf that shows it starting at Turk Gap. It has been years since I have done that loop.

I've parked at the reservoir in the valley, hiked along moormans and up to black rock and back. You can connect with the AT and use a fire road to make a loop but the name escapes me. Snake city, beware. Beautiful area though!
