He wouldn't be the first ex-con to thru hike.
Reporting to his parole officer is going to pose a challenge.
Puh-leeeze...At my age, in this stage of my life, after all I've accomplished, all I've been through, all that I've overcome,

The Five Basic Principles of Going Lighter ~ Cam "Swami" Honan of OZ
This thread should either be removed all together or moved to the humor forum...
it amazes me when people fall for this type of crap and think it's real...

He's not going to hike the AT? But it's got to be true, it was on The Internet!

It'll be interesting for him to try getting permission to move from state to state.
what is so far fetched about this? Certainly doable.
I think for a convicted felon getting permission to leave the county let alone his state will be impossible. If he violates his parole it will be revoked. I saw the decision of the parole board live and they told him any violation will lead to revocation.
That said if he gets permission great if not maybe part of the Florida trail will be in his county. He is expected to be released in Florida.
He won't even be allowed to hike the Florida trail.
If it gets cold I'll lend him my gloves
A couple years ago OJ was upset because prison officials wouldn't let him get a knee replacement surgery. He had even offered to pay for whatever extra security would be required during his hospital stay and they still said no. There is no way he's hiking the AT. Fake news.
A classic narcissistic and sociopath. People have hiked the AT after knee replacement surgery. Just another reminder to bring my pepper spray. People may seem outgoing and friendly, but...
He said he wants to hike the AT...no details. Going out for an overnighter or a state hike with parole permission, conditions(UL ankle bracelet ), and checking in twice each wk might not be that far fetched. Why shouldn't the AT be open to him if it helps him. He's 70 yrs old. Leaving prison after 9 yrs with a goal of hiking the AT isn't that bad of a goal. I'd support The Juice in anyway I can if he truly endeavored to legally hike the AT while meeting the conditions of his parole. I'd even hike with him. Go OJ Go. No, not to Mexico OJ!
The multiple domestic violence calls and subsequent events surrounding his ill fated marriage tell me he is not a guy I would ever want to be associated with, let alone be alone hiking with. I get he was found not guilty of the murders and I agree it was appropriate to parole him on the felony he was convicted of, and yet the bigger picture is one of a sociopath and a misogynist. Not a guy I want to hang with.
Dogwood i I agree almost always with your posts, but HELL NO! To this one.
I hope OJ lives a quiet and peaceful life, close with his family, for the rest of his years.
Sorry, bit of a rant on my part.
Just don't want harm to come to my fiellow hikers, or anyone else.
