    Default Tipi trip report predictions

Surely Tipi Walter is camping somewhere out there in this snow. In a few days he'll post his detailed, fully illustrated report of blowdowns and tent testimonials. I thought maybe we could have some fun predicting what he'll say.

For those who don't know, 29 years ago March 12-13 we experienced the Blizzard of '93. Only about a week before the onset of spring, it dumped 12-15 inches of heavy snow, bending trees over and burying everything.
On this March 12, I have about 8" of snow from the system that is passing through. High tomorrow morning is expected to be 9 degrees. That's mighty chilly for mid-March in east Tennessee. I hate to think what it might be like in the Smokies right about now!

Or maybe we can just talk about the weather.

It’s been a while since he’s posted a Cohutta/Big Frog trip report. That’s my pick!

    Default Tipi trip report predictions

He is on day 29 of a trip finally enjoying the fact that there is no motorcycle noise for at least a few days...and hiking slowly up and down the nutbuster looking for frozen hammock hangers.

I hope tipi is out there doing what tipi does. I don't think he posted a January trip report I hope he's ok.
As far as the weather we got about 2,3 " of blowing snow .
Big winds and super, super cold tonight. If I didn't have my dog I would be up on ravens rocks camping in it .

I'm predicting it will feature a graphic description of a turtlehead.

Just checked, and it seems his last trip report was in December, doing the Bald River area. It's unlike him to be quiet for so long, especially with the winter wind beckoning.
I hope he's okay out there.

It wouldn't be Tipi without it.

A frozen turtlehead its unusual not to get a winter trip report.
And unlike him not to be out in a " winter snow bomb cyclone ".

I hope that he looked at the forecast, took it seriously and rescheduled.
The last few days in the Blue Ridge Mountains have not been pleasant.

As long as he can get out there and meet his extraction, pick up at trailhead I don't think he cares what happens in between. He's been through it all and it's what he lives for

    Tough guy, for sure.

Tipi is tough - in his own way, in his own style.
