Default GA USFS 83 - Mooney Gap/Bearpen Gap

Is this a gravel or paved road? Want to know if it's driveable in a minivan.

I'm not sure how much it will help but, we were shuttled from Franklin to Mooney Gap in a front wheel drive minivan a few weeks ago. I recall it being gravel, a lttle bumpy and not for the faint of heart. We shuttled after a few days of rain and didn't have issues with traction.

The road to Mooney Gap, as noted by jgillam, is a typical forest service gravel road. It is driveable by just about any vehicle. However, any storms tend to do a number on all the local forest service roads. Best to check with the Forest Service folks. We had storms go thru here last night.

Realized a couple days ago that this is actually in NC but I cannot edit the original. Must be time for renewal of donation!
Best to call Nantahala NF service or USFS? Don't know which county this is for USFS districting.
