Are survival blankets worth carrying?

Sure they are worth carrying. But in your pocket and not your pack. Along with your compass and fire starting kit.

you do carry those things on your person and not in your pack right.

I don't carry one, but guess one would be about 2-3 ounces and compact, at least until deployed. Could be used as an improvised rain shelter and/or a groundsheet, but flimsy and noisy in either use.
