Default How many days afoot on trail do lite, ultra lite hikers prefer these days?

What’s the preference of number of days of food to carry these days before getting off trail for resupply on the AT for the extra lite gear crowd?
And has anyone broken down average town time spent per stay and Nero’s in town for the average above?

I’m guessing 3 days on trail preferred on average
    Before neroing or staying…

    Here are my stats: https://www.trailjournals.com/journal/stats/6620

I had hiked the PCT and CDT in the years before, so I was comfortable with a 100-mile, four-day hike between towns, but only did that a few times on the AT. Three days was probably about average. Base pack weight was about eight pounds.

Some days, it's not worth chewing through the restraints.

I like a zero once a week, and resupply every 3-4 days. I'm not ultralight (12-15 pound base), but I'm old enough that keeping pack weight down and comfort up matters.

That's about right, Pete. The truth is there's almost as much town-staying as there is hiking. Even more in bad weather.
