    Default Jan start AT thru-hike

Starting thru hike January 1st 2007, hiking on weekends and will be hiking every weekend until the first weekend in March, weather permitting hoping to make it to Fontana getting ahead of the crowded shelters.

Anytime the thru-hiking thought dances around in my head, I always dream of a Jan 1st start. I love winter backpacking.
That's my dog, Echo. He's a fine young dog.
