    Default The first 100 miles

Toesocks we have slept in a rain, sleet, and ice strom just before Blood mtn then cold nite 18 degrees at Low gap shelter the snow storm at Blue Mtn Shelter took a zero day at Neels Gap (great people) then a zero day at Carter Gap Shelter because the rain was coming down in sheets no need to climb Albert in that. Now we are at Havens Budget INN at Franklin NC. Nice people Crutch has been wonderful to us. Weare have a great time we have become trail harded and feel we can deal with anything thrown at us.
We just wanted to let all our friends at WB know how thing are going.Happy Hiking to all.

    Cool Cool! Good luck!

Ron Haven does a pretty good job taking care of hikers in Franklin. When I was there with Superman last year, he shuttled us out from winding stair and then all around town. And Crutch... Crutch is the man! He gave us sandwiches, sodas, and snacks before Ron picked us up.

Starting March 19th I hear that the days will be sunny and cool with songbirds singing and flowers blooming. Expect gentle breezes during daylight hours but some softly falling rain showers during the night.
    haha
I will look for your journal entries in the shelters.
    Very best wishes,
