No, no that's definitely not a smiley.

And while we're on the subject, does anyone know where the fark Green Hornet is??? Nobody has heard from the boy since the 14th (he was in Pearisburg).

I've been off in the Grand Canyon and the last I got was a letter post-dated 5/14. I've been given the duty of his mail drops (unbeknownst to him) and I'm not certain when he'll be in Waynesboro.

Ah well. I'll be down there this weekend. I figured I'd hunt him down and hog tie him while he listens to me go into great detail about what I went through in the Ditch. The hog tie'ing part could be quite entertaining, the rest, not so much.....

    don't forget Park Bench

Wow I didn't realize we fed 20 people and had food left over in the morning. 32 hotdogs 12 burgers, 3 cases of beer, pop, brownies, pie, watermelon, and a good amount of other stuff. Everyone went to bed happy and full... but the pizza shack lost business that night....hehe I had a great time and am looking foward to doing more magic in the near future.
There’s no point in the destination if you can't enjoy the journey.

I reckon Harpers Ferry will start getting crowdedsoon.

So, there is a Barry Manilow out there. I've met Chuck Norris several times. Has anybody seen any other celebrities on the trail this year?

Short day hike North of Watauga Dam Rd:

    Highlander (from '99)
    Jen
    Coldilocks
    Sudoku
    Stranded
    Pinball Wizard
    Skip Trace (Springer 3/31)
    Cap'n Jack

It was 30 years ago... (probably won't ever have a reason to use a Star Wars smiley again)...

    See you on the trail,

If this hiker to whom you refer is one of those repeat offenders, I don't care what he calls himself, he's guilty!

Finished working on Roan High Knob shelter today and cut about 25 blow downs, as well. Only saw one current hiker, Otter and his dog, Trail Max. Met another interesting hiker, though. John came out and helped work on the shelter. He is a 2000 miler. He started his hike in '67 (I think) and finished in '80. He comes out when he can and tries to get at least 100 hours/yr. John is 92...Go John Go...

    See you on the trail,

I may have to head North soon, running out of hikers to encounter down here...
