    I am a FNG so I need a quick guide to hiker lingo so I can more easily learn what is presented here...

    give me all the useful ones.

    A package that you receive and re-send to yourself at the post office as you're moving along the trail. You might use it for maps, spare water filter elements, prescription drugs, items of which you need only small quantities while you're hiking.
