If the hundred or so red bumps on my skin under my hairline on the back of my head are any indication I'd say its about now... and that was just from a short day hike in BSP a few days ago. Last year after the same thing about this time I vowed I'd get a short haircut and wear one of those stupid looking nets over my head... but I didn't.
So the people telling me that blackflies are just a nuisance and don't bite are incorrect?
You know, you got me thinking. I don't know who I heard that from. Oh well, I'll be one of the ones wearing a silly hat with a net attached in a couple weeks.
When bugs are involved I don't care how I look as long as they are leaving me alone.
