    Dogginfox,

I hiked with a Moonstone Cirrus jacket in 2002. It wasn't an especially cold year to hike, but it kept me toasty warm and weighed under a pound (women's medium). I am a notoriously cold camper, as well. Aside from a fleece long -sleeve, it was the only upper-body warmth I carried in the beginning. It doubles as a nice pillow when it's warm, as well. Good luck!

I just bought a Moonstone Minimalist Down Jacket. I have taken it on one trip...it is sooooo warm. It weighs 1 lb 3 oz for a mens small. Great jacket...definatley plan on taking it out more this winter....
